CONS OF THE PALEO DIET
What are the harms of the Paleo diet? There are thought to be a few negative side effects of the Paleo diet. Common concerns of the Paleo diet are that it eliminates entire food groups such as whole grains and dairy, which are considered essential in a wholesome diet. Although carbohydrates aren't needed for survival, they do aid in the quality of life being the primary source of our energy. (Our bodies can also utilize fat as the main energy source, which is called ketosis, foundation of the Keto diet).
Other concerns of the Paleo Diet eliminating dairy and whole grains are possible deficiencies in calcium, vitamin D, B vitamins and fiber. Like a Vegan diet, there are nondairy foods and supplements to help bridge any deficiency gaps. Eating fibrous foods and vegetables and taking a fiber supplement can help as well.
